Searching for free ACCA lectures, notes, past papers or mock exams can produce a large collection of links without a usable study plan. Start by deciding what you need the resource to do: explain a topic, help you practise a requirement, or reproduce the response tools and timing of the exam.
Use the right resource for the task
| Your task | Resource to investigate | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Learn a syllabus area | Study Hub content and an appropriate lesson | Paper, syllabus period, variant and assumed knowledge |
| Check understanding | Quizzes and short independent questions | Can you explain why the answer is right? |
| Practise exam responses | Official exam resources and Practice Platform | Response tools, requirement and marking guidance |
| Find a learning weakness | A timed original practice attempt | What failed: knowledge, method, interpretation or timing? |
| Improve a written answer | Marking guidance and feedback | Who marks it and how is the judgement explained? |
What is ACCA Study Hub?
ACCA’s Study Hub provides registered students with free digital study material, quizzes and practice resources. ACCA describes access through myACCA’s qualification-progress area. Use the official account route; do not give a third party your password to unlock supposedly exclusive access.
ACCA also explains that Study Hub revision questions do not completely reproduce the CBE environment. Use the official Practice Platform for practice with the relevant exam environment and questions. These tools serve related but different purposes.
Are free video lectures enough?
A lesson can clarify a difficult topic, but watching a correct solution is different from producing one independently. After a short learning section, close the video and attempt a new requirement. If you cannot decide which method to use, replaying an entire course may be less useful than identifying the specific missing step.
Before relying on any lecture, check the paper, variant and period. This is especially important for tax and other subjects affected by current examinable rules. A high view count does not establish that a recording matches your sitting.
Where should you look for past and specimen papers?
Begin with ACCA’s exam-support resources for the relevant paper. Distinguish a specimen exam, a published past/sample exam, an examiner’s report and a third-party question bank. Record the source and applicable period beside your practice entry.
Use lawful copies and the publisher’s access terms. Do not assume that a download described as “free” is authorised to redistribute, complete, current or correctly marked. This guide does not reproduce commercial exam kits or official question-bank content.
Use mocks as a diagnosis
Attempt the requirement under clear timing and permitted-resource conditions. Review each lost mark, then record a concrete correction. For written work, a submitted answer with pending marking is not an automatic pass. Ask how the answer will be assessed rather than judging only by how much you typed.
Read our mock exam review method and written-exam structure guide before comparing mock lengths.
A practical weekly resource plan
- Select one syllabus area and the correct learning material.
- Study a manageable section and write a short explanation in your own words.
- Attempt fresh questions without following a worked solution.
- Review answers, marking guidance and any feedback.
- Retry the weak requirement later to check whether the correction lasted.
Compare free learning with tuition accurately
Free material and paid tuition are different services. If you need a timetable, tutor questions, written feedback or guided revision, check what the course actually includes and how long access lasts. A free demo should show the teaching style; it is not necessarily a promise that the whole course is free.
