Is ACCA a university degree?
ACCA is a professional accountancy qualification. An equivalence decision recognises a level for a stated purpose; it does not change the awarding body or turn the professional qualification into a university-issued M.Com certificate. Describe your achievement accurately on your CV. If a vacancy asks for a named degree, ask whether recognised equivalent professional qualifications meet its criteria.
Does an affiliate automatically have HEC master’s equivalence?
The official ACCA Pakistan statement is specifically about members. Do not use a blog’s shortened phrase “ACCA qualified” as evidence for every stage. An affiliate should confirm the applicable position directly with HEC and the receiving organisation before selecting a qualification category or paying an application fee. Passing exams and completing membership requirements are separate milestones.
How should a member check equivalence?

- Check the current instructions on HEC’s official services portal, including the evidence required for your case.
- Ask the employer or admissions office whether it requires an individual certificate, the general notification, membership verification or other evidence.
- Keep the application reference and the official response. Submit documents through the official channel and never share your account password with a tuition provider.

Can I apply for an MS, MPhil or a government job?

Before paying, send the relevant office your exact status and ask whether it satisfies the particular programme or advertised post. Keep its written answer rather than relying on a generic assurance.
Foundation Diploma and Intermediate equivalence are separate
The Pakistan Foundation Diploma pathway concerns a different stage from master’s-level membership recognition. ACCA describes an IBCC Intermediate-equivalence pathway with additional requirements. A beginner should check that process separately in ACCA’s Foundation equivalence guidance. It is not a shortcut to the membership recognition described above.
